MINIATURE PAINTING-5000

Miniature Work

One of the most important aspects of miniature art is the surface of the canvas or the painting. The surface usually has no particular sense of a perspective. It is generally seen on a single plane without any dimension or division of the ground. This is one of the examples of miniature art that depicts Radha and Krishna in a typical scene of armor. Krishna can immediately be recognized from the color of his skin as well as the peacock feather that ornaments his head. Both of them are deeply immersed and engaged in each other, one feeding the other with their own hands. There are peacocks that roam about in the background that has been painted in monochromes of green and blue. The peacock is a very important emblem in the depiction of Radha and Krishna. Krishna is also recognized by the peacock feather usually seen on his forehead. The vividness of the color lends a unique quality to the art. This vividness is a very traditional quality of miniature art. In fact, the green, blue, red, orange as well as all the other colors that have been used assume a very deep hue in this particular miniature image.
