Krishna with Yasodha

Rs.12,000 Inc. Tax

The image of the mother and the child is very common in a number of different traditions. According to the Hindu tradition and the popular Hindu psyche that is associated with the repertoire of Hindu mythology, this image is commonly associated with that of Yasodha and her child, the avatar of the divine Vishnu, Krishna. There are a number of fabled myths associated with Krishna as a child and the image of the naughty child is one among the many images and forms that have been associated with Krishna. Here, Krishna has been depicted in violet with his classic peacock feather and the flute. However, here another important aspect has been stressed on, the relationship between the mother and the child. Here, the divine avatar of the Lord is above all seen as the child of Yasodha. Thus, he is encased in the protective grasp of his mother as both their gazes are turned towards the viewer. The mother is seen as the eternal element that is ever protective of the child on her lap. This is one of the most classical images and significations of the traditional image of the mother and the child. A myriad of shades have been utilized to make the picture bright.
