Hindu Deity of Wealth

Rs.5,200 Inc. Tax

The portrait shows Ganesha, who is the deity of wealth and richness according to the Hindu pantheon. He is a prevalent aspect of the theology in all parts of India. The picture has been painted with great symmetry in mind. This is a frontal view of the deity with the elephant head and all the usual objects held in his four arms. Ganesha is known to ride on a mouse and his mouse is depicted beside him. Thus this is one of the most traditional depictions of the Ganesha. What is highly interesting is the scheme of colors which deals with only a couple of colors from the palate. These include two particular shades of yellow, a brown and the monotonous green of the background. Ganesha has been depicted in the same color as his clothes with a certain contrast in the shades. This is also a gold that is considered to be greatly auspicious in India and a color that signifies wealth and prosperity. This is an ideal portrait for the religious minded as well as the connoisseur looking for some serious piece pertaining to the rituals and traditions of aboriginality. It ultimately brings the viewer back to the Hindu roots of its source.
