Golden Krishna

Rs.14,500 Inc. Tax

Most people familiar with Hindu mythology and its associated pantheon of Gods and Goddesses will be well aware of Lord Krishna. Here, the painting depicts a statue of Lord Krishna. The statue is made completely of gold, an element that is considered to be auspicious by Hindus. There is a sense of the lifelike real in the painting in that it does not seem like a real figure but that of a real statue of a figure. Herein, there is a depth to the total image that has a lot to do with perspective abilities and skills. The flute that Krishna holds is also made of gold and painted in a number of shades of bright yellow, but the peacock feather on his head is completely real. Hence, it has been depicted in shades of turquoise blue and green. However, the perspective in the painting lies only with the figure and there is no sign of a perspective in the surrounding space. In fact, the space has been obliterated for the sake of a red-orange backdrop. The backdrop has been painted in contrast with the figure so that with a few shades of black the figure is easily accentuated on it.
